Good luck this year. I'm sure you'll find a huge difference between your first and second years. I know in my first year, I had totally unrealistic expectations and plain old ignorance about certain issues of teaching. Each new year, you'll find yourself remembering problems that came up and potential solutions.

Yeah, we get it. There's always an urge to get some preparation done. But IMHO, you've got the right idea trying to take a break from it all. You sure won't be able to do that once the school year gets rolling!

Wow! What a great percentage of students! That is a very unique situation.

Your talent show is a great idea. Can I use it? My schools' Spring Concerts were very early in the year, and I would like to have done something like a talent show to keep students motivated during the final weeks of school.

By any chance, are you planning to sell your 8-year old Yamaha f-310? I'm looking for a good quality guitar but under my budget. i don't mind if it's second hand. (:

Hi,
I'm a student at St. Pete. College. There, all of the classrooms have digital LCD projectors. Some of the College of Education classes have a camera dock which they call an Elmo (Why they call it that is beyond me!) It's so cool because you can show the students any kind of papers, objects or anything you want them to see, and they don't have to have a clear background like you need on an overhead projector.
